Dave,

Good seeing you and Shane at the Hershey DE/AutoX a few weeks ago. Why don't we go ahead and set a date now and in the mean time Dan and I can finalize a route in Lancaster county.

Right now the 12th and 26th look good. I could also do the 5th if we wanted to do it right away.

I was thinking about getting an early morning start, that way we might run into less traffic.

What do you think?

I'll PM a few guys with this link so we can start to get some feedback.

Thanks.

I'm game - can't do the 5th or the 26th, but the other date works. Obviously you'll need to use a date the works for everyone, but if it's the 12th, count me in.

26th is good here. Mike, let's figure out the route.

Also, can you guys recommend a good alignment shop?

Has anyone used Heistand?

Dan

Dan,
Call Wes and ask him or e-mail him at lesherjm@aol.com.

I was just informed by my better half we will be in New Hampshire on the 26th.

I will have to catch another one or we can select an alternative date?
Dave

Dan, send me a PM with your phone number. Thanks.

Dan and I found a nice route this afternoon. The first half is outstanding with some nice tight curves. The last half is more wide open and sweeping. Great for some speed.

Let's meet in the parking Lot of McDonald's just off of the Greenfield Road exit of Rt 30 at 7:30 on the 12th. On the map it is located between Hempstead Drive and Greenfield Road on the North-side of Rt 30.

Here is a zoomed out map so you can see where it is in relation to Lancaster City.

Guys,
I might be out of the game. Mushy brake pedal, and brake fluid flowing out of the bottom of the car. I called the mechanic so hopefully he can have it repaired by the weekend. I will keep in touch.

Dave,

Bummer. Hopefully it's something simple like a broken break line.

Dan,
I went back over the last 1/2 of the route today. Instead of going all the way up 896 we should continue on 372 to 41 to 30 772 to 340. My guess is that the total run should be about 2 1/2 hours

I should be good for Sat., I just did a valve adjustment for the first time and changed all my wires, plugs, filters, dist, rotor, but I still have to put the bottom valve covers back on - the bolts backed out of the block and I ran out of time trying to get all the stuck nuts off. Anyway, since fri is a banking holiday, I'll fire it up then - if it doesn't run like a telegraph, I'll be in.

Cory,

I had a bolt back out of the block when I adjusted mine. I got some lock tight and used the two nut technique to tighten it back in. Worked pretty well. Did you change your fuel filter? I can't get mine off. I'll bet you see a huge improvement. with all that maintenance. Hope everything fires up OK.

Mike,

the last time I changed my oil I couldn't get the fuel filter off either - this time I soaked it with pb blaster and used flare nut wrenches to get it off - finally came but what a bear. I had 12 of the valve cover bolts back out - fun fun fun. If the valve adjustment was done right, it should run great with all new filters, plugs and new magnecores. Keep your fingers crossed for me.
