Question Upholstery Shops?

Well, the '72 Targa project is finally getting off the ground. I decided I really wasn't going to put the engine together myself and it went off to Ralph's in Owings Mills.

What I need next is a good upholstery shop to recondition the front seats. As far as I can tell they are original and need recovering as well as some restoration of the infrastructure. I don't need show quality, just something durable and comfortable.

Any assistance gratefully accepted. If there are decent kits I might consider doing it at home, but I'm not sure what I'll find if I take them apart.

Thanks.

It might be a little bit of a drive, but you might try Don Elkins in Fairfax, VA. I have not used them personally, but they are a name that is often mentioned in Northern VA.

Hey Dave..

How are you? That doesn't look like the 3.0 CS under the cover next to the Targa! Hope its still around.

Anyway, try Victor's Custom Upholstery over in Glenn Burnie,
410-768-6008

Good guy, quality work , fair prices and easy to work with..

He did the seat for my Harley last year, and a set of seats for a 308 we were putting back together both turned out really nice!

That's the 3.0 under the cover, resting after $2k rust repair to the floor. I'm still deciding whether to use the original seats or a set of later seats I have that actually need no work but would require re-engineering of the seat belts.

See you in May?

Sounds Good...

Yes I will be at the Deutsche Marque Concours in May... and of course the Vintage Races at Summit Point 2 weeks after!

I may even show a car if I can finish one in time!

See you then!

Paul
