Great idea Glenn! I am in the North Hills, not far from Ross Park Mall. Happy to lend a hand or meet for coffee.

Anybody know a junk yard around here that handles Porsches? I need to source some body parts for rust repair.

junk yards
I think there is a VW yard around Greensburg that has some Porsche stuff. I'll be willing to bet its 944/924/928 though.

You may want to call Greater Pittsburgh Collision Works. They're a body shop over near the airport and have done tech sessions in conjunction with the local PCA chapter. Another option would be to call Pete's Euro Techniques also near the airport, Pete is a great guy and freely shares info. Last, John Rayish (Porsche Specialties) in Bridgeville (412) 221-1855. They may be able to point you to someone local.
Different direction, try www.car-part.com. It's an on-line system that the junkyard's use to inventory parts. It showed Flowers in Smithton, PA (about 20 miles from you) has a front right - I've been to that one, and front left is over in Malvern, OH about 75 miles - never been there. Good luck. Looks like a substantial winter project. I'm busy with a house addition, but would be happy to offer some help.

Me?
