R-57 14 Mini Convertible - Clunk when going over curbs
I had a bad clunk when going over a driveway entrance or curb, anytime that the car was twisted axially.
I was certain it was coming from the rear, thought sway bar link or sway bar bushing. Ordered parts - links and bushings. Tore it apart - all looked good, replaced bushings, reused links. Still clunked. Crawled around underneath and tightened everything I could see connected to the suspension. I found a loose bolt holding a long metal bar which runs from the center of the rear suspension assy to the left side under the driver's door. The bolt under the drivers door was about 1/2 turn loose. Tightened it and clunk is gone. |
Good find! I would've also thought your LCA's might have been a bit worn. Glad you found your issue!
