2011 Mini CooperS Whine at start in AM
For the past month, every morning when I start my 2011 Mini S, after the engine has been running for 30+ seconds, there is a high pitched whine, very loud. It continues whether I put it in gear and go or just sit and idle. It stops after 1-2 minutes. Local non-Mini mechanic has no idea of cause but said he googled and found it is common and for a number of reasons. Any ideas or comments? Thanks.

Mine does that, too. If I kill the motor, then crank it again, the whine is gone.
