2006 Mini won't Crank
Asking a question
Need some help troubleshooting Our 2006 Mini started & ran great Friday Went to use it Saturday Pushed down clutch.....turned key......dash lit up......starter motor made a few turns and that was it Tried again.....a few turns of the starter & quit Checked battery and was at around 12v Put trickle charger on for a few hours and battery up to nearly 14v This morning.......Pushed in clutch......turn key.....dash lit up but no starter engagement Battery is less than a year old Any ideas on what may be cause? Does not look like a fun job to replace the starter Also.......is there a switch/relay on the clutch pedal to that must engaged before turning the key to allow power to the starter? |

Did you plug in to see if there are any codes stored? Honestly... bad batteries make these cars do some seriously weird stuff. Might not be a bad idea to start there. I have seen MINI's batteries read at 12-13v and need replacement. This article can be very helpful to you: https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/MINI/57-ELEC-Battery_Replacement_and_Battery_Tender_Installatio n/57-ELEC-Battery_Replacement_and_Battery_Tender_Installatio n.htm.
