Error code 286C. Valvetronic motor issue
 

Hi all

Our mini will not start and is throwing up 286C as an error code on my Foxwell.
I have removed the VVT motor and connected it direct to a battery. It spins no problem.
re-installed the motor and wound it manually and it turns the eccentric cam.
Ive fit a new timing chain kit and reset variables using the Foxwell.

heres where the problem is. when i use the Foxwell to "learn new variables", it cancels procedure everytime and will notlet me continue.

I have connected a multimeter to the plug for the VVT motor and got a reading of 2.7, so i assuming that there is a feed to it.

Is the motor the problem somewhere or am i missing something?

P.S its my Wife's car and my ears are already bleeding
