R53 engine issues
Hello all.
I am a newbie to your forum as I just joined today. I own a 2005 MCS and I need some help resolving some issues with it. A week ago I removed the cylinder head to replace all the valves(Pelican Parts) because I had a burnt valve on CYL #1. I went through the procedure of bringing all 4 pistons midway and using the camshaft locking tool, I marked and removed the chain from the camshaft sprocket. Anyway, I had the valves seated in the head by the machine shop and replaced the cylinder head on the car. After hooking everything back up, the car starts but the following occurs: On startup the RPM flares up then settles down to normal RPM but with a misfire. I am getting 3 trouble codes. PO340 Cam Position Sensor 2300 Ignition Coil 2303 Ignition Coil Removed the Sensor. I believe the CAM sensor is faulty because I am not getting any resistance readings on any of the terminals on the sensor. I ordered a new one. The other ?? I have is regarding the connector. I have 3 wires. Red/Green; Black/Brown and Brown. I have searched the internet for a schematic but can't find one. Which of the 3 wires is ground, 12v and signal. Thank you all for reading and welcome to any input I can get on this issue. |
