2006 R53 clutch fork

So I'm working on replacing the clutch and found my throwout bearing was wrecked, which has then worn my clutch fork. Mine has the bolt holding the clutch fork on, not the one piece as in early models. So I took the bolt out and I cannot budge the fork to remove it from the shaft. I have searched Google to find out if it is pressed on or if mine is simply frozen, but I have not found anyone really talking about it.

I am the original owner and the clutch has not been done before. Car has about 180k miles. Everything else has gone well so far.

Does anyone know if the clutch fork should come off the shaft easily? I saw a video warning against using the transmission case for leverage since the metal is not super strong, and I don't want to crack the housing. So I have not been able to really work it or get too much leverage to see if it is simply seized on there really good.

Also, if I have to cut it off, is there anything to be wary of?

Thanks everyone.

FYI in case anyone else comes across this post with the same issue. Solved my issue by using a cutting tool to cut almost all the way through the fork; this weakened it enough for me to get a pair of vice grips on one of the forks, break it free, and move it back and forth on the shaft to slowly work off. There was some rust, so that must have been what had it seized on. What a PITA. The new fork slid on nice and easy, and with the new bushings on, everything is back on track again. Trans mated back with the engine with no issue. Almost buttoned all back up. Have some rusty break lines to do, then back on the road.
