e36 electrical windows and sunroof problems.

After having a flat battery i jump started my car, then found out the central locking wasn't working properly so i changed the fuse and it was fine, when i opened the boot there was a really high pitched whirring noise when the boot was opened fully.
my father in law played with some wire and now my electric windows and sunroof are not working nor is the interior lights, i ve changed the fuses to avail, is there a reset switch or something really obvious that i am missing.????
