Warning to early Cooper S owners

Check your battery box! There was a recall on leaking third brake lights in the hatch. By now most have been fixed but the battery box could still be growing a case of the tin worm. Not just the box itself, but the electronics in the box can fail. My shop just fixed a car recently that would have left the owner stranded even if she wasn't rear ended.
