Have you ever known issues with the ignition not switching off following the change of the pump? My mini is a 54 reg and the pump was changed today but now the ignition won't switch off. Drove it home: had the keys out and the battery disconnected for a good minute before it stopped!! I have never had ignition issues prior to the change. The pump has been running all week so have been disconnecting the battery every time i stopped.

This might be coinsidence. I would inspect the output from the ignition switch. It's possible you have a faulty switch.
