Can you not use a vacuum bleeder on the slave cylinder?
I ain't seem to suck fluid out from the line.

Yes, you can use a vacuum bleeder.

I like to fill the reservoir, then open the bleeder and let it gravity bleed for a while. Then bleed the normally. If it gives me trouble bleeding I will usually pressure bleed it.
