Every significant modification to your car (cams, displacement, etc.) will need tweaking of the software code in order to gain the most performance out of your modifications. Depending upon what you are doing to your car, you will need some type of customized map in the DME to fully capitalize on your changes. The Shark software is like any other software - it's designed for a specific configuration. So, if you make major modifications, then you probably will need a new set of DME maps (software), that is custom setup for your car. I believe that the Shark tool is designed for a specific mostly-stock configuration, so it probably will not work super-well if you make major engine modifications like displacement changes or camshafts. Simple things like a new exhaust or intake should work fine with any software.
