07 Cooper S with Fuel in Oil
I had 2 blown exhaust valves and recently rebuilt the head. In the process I replaced the injectors, timing chain/tensioner, VANOS solenoid, replaced all exhaust valves and guides.
Now the engine seems to run good, except the lifters are noisy and there is a strong smell of fuel in the engine oil. I've changed the oil twice now since the rebuild, with minimal miles in between. Recently I've only drove ~5 miles and the fuel smell is really strong when I remove the oil fill cap. No error codes and the engine doesn't seem to be missing. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Is it possible for fuel to get between the high pressure fuel pump directly into the head? |
