Hi i had rebuilt psp pump fitted and everything was fine but now my battery light has come on and the steering has gone again...when the psp failed before there was no battery light on but this time there is so what can it be

I would start by checking the charging system. Is there power at the back of the alternator? If not you may have blown a fuse.
