2003 Mini Cooper S R53 Clutch question
I know that there are a million post concerning mini cooper's and clutch issues. I have sorted out after replacing both the master cylinder and slave cylinder and giving the system a good bleed that my clutch still doesn't work correctly. After bleeding all the air out of the system with the slave fully compressed and reinstalled I went to crank the car up and it wouldn't start with the clutch pressed down. I pumped the clutch a few times still no luck. I then pressed the clutch down into the carpet and pop noise came from somewhere and then the car would crank. With the clutch pedal out no noise, press it all the way in and a chirping noise comes from somewhere from inside the transmission.
Since then I have searched around and deduced that most likely I have some issue with pressure plate, throw out bearing, and other parts. What I am looking for is a comprehensive list of what else I should look at doing while going into to replace the clutch? My car is a 2003 Mini Cooper S R53 with almost 100,00 miles. In this forums judgment what other parts will I most likely take off during the job that would make good sense to replace while I am at it. Looking for some help to get a parts and tools check list put together.
Thanks,
Rick
