i changed my transmission fluid today on my R53 2005 mini cooper S and there seems to be a leak. I tightened the fill and drain plug to 32 ft lbs just like the article says. Should i tighten them even more? or will that cause the plugs to fail like mentioned in a previous comment?

Do not over-tighten the plug. Try replacing it is the leak is from there.
