Vacuum pump replacement

I basically have a confirmed vacuum pump failure and I have the part in hand. Now... I need to find out the exact process to make sure I get the new pump on correctly.

It seems pretty straightforward, it looks like 2 bolts hold the pump to the engine and the vacuum line that goes to it. The pump cam with some instructions... The one that I'm most curious about says "only install pumps that are driven by cams in low position of the cams." How can I find the low position of the cam?

Also, are there any additional gaskets that I need?

Any help is appreciated!!
