I own a 2004 Cooper S and I'm having a tough time getting into gear when the car has been in the summer sun the whole day. By tough, I mean I really need to force the shift stick to go into gear even when the clutch is in all the way down. If I were to then drive the car a ways without shifting, it gets better.
In the winter, I usually don't have this issue except when I have been constantly shifting for some time. What could be wrong? Thank you very much __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: |
Sounds like failing shift cables.

Another area to inspect would be the clutch. Try bleeding the clutch if you can.
