Hi all,

Here’s my 2006 MINI Cooper S JCW GP – The last hurrah of the R53 generation!

This is my second R53, and I’ve had it since 2012. It’s my weekend, track-day, and all around fun car, making around 225WHP and just finishing up the winter with new seats, harnesses, roll bar, and suspension (finally!)

The thing I love most about this car is that it never fails to make me smile. It’s a ridiculous amount of fun, and although there have been a few times that I’ve considered moving on to something RWD, I can’t get rid of this car – it’s too good! It holds its’ own against cars that it has no business keeping up with on the track, too.

I’ve done 99% of the work on this MINI myself, and will continue to do so moving forward. Unfortunately, part of the upcoming maintenance is going to be a clutch – there’s a very slow leak between the bellhousing and the oil pan (rear main seal or input shaft seal), so my original clutch will probably get wet and slip over time. I have no need for an upgraded clutch, so a stock (or stock replacement) will be going in whenever the transmission comes out, along with an LSD.

Hey, this is my 2006 R53! The mods I've installed are an Alta Air Intake, an Alta 17% Supercharger Pulley, and a Borla catback exhaust. She's pulled through for me in my first three years of college and I would never get rid of her. She's too much fun!

This is my 06 Cooper S. I have it for a few years now and it's been a wild one. She has an intake, and a 15% supercharger pulley. I've done all the work on her myself. She can be a real pain sometimes but I love her. I wouldn't drive any other car. If something happened to mine I would go buy another R53. I've kept her alive for 139,000 miles now. My clutch has actually been slipping for a few months now but I cannot afford to do a new clutch as I am only a college student. It is something I cannot do myself as I do not have the place to do it, so I would have to take it in. If I win this clutch, that would really make trying to fix it a while lot easier! Thank you so much!

I own an 05 Mini Cooper S that I daily drive. This little nimble machine is amazing, and I honestly enjoy each drive. Thanks to your write-ups, I've been able to upkeep this R53, as well as my 01 E38.

2004 mcs

This is our third MINI, and this one is my track car. I'm a coach for Hooked on Driving in the PACNW region. The MINIs are really fun to drive and it's especially fun to pass a lot of the high HP cars.

Alta 15% pulley
Alta Header
Alta rear sway bar
M7 front strut tower brace
Megan suspension
Sparco wheels
Wilwood big brake kit
Brake ducts w/fans
NO interior
Sparco steering wheel w/quick release
Schroth 4 point harnesses
Kirk Racing full cage (soon to be installed)

2006 Couper S

2006 Pepper White Black Roof Mini Cooper S Named "Abby" Stock 6 speed with the exception of a DDM CAI. I Own a 2014 Mini Cooper Coupe S and have always loved the look of the R53 and just recently decided to purchase this one. Love the whine from the Super Charger and the fun driving on the road with it. The go-cart feeling is the best. I'm a Beatles fan so made Abby (short for Abby Roads) a Beatles Mini. It turns heads everywhere I go with it.
