After working on my r56 mini cooper rear brake pads replaced, I have brake pedal that sinks when engine starts it feels firm when pumped a few times when engine is off.
And, I have CEL with code P0015 camshaft sensor. Could the code be triggered by vacuum pump issues?

Not likely. Pedal sinking is not likely vacuum either. That would be hard pedal.

You may have air in the system. Try bleeding your brakes.

Is your MINI showing any other symptoms that are unusual? For P0015, it's unrelated to your brake pedal issue. Info here: https://www.obd-codes.com/p0015.

Could be VANOS as P0015 with MINI FC code 0x2D61 is VANOS, exahust: Closed-loop control fault, position not reached. 0x2845 is 'B' camshaft position timing over-retarded (bank 1) and 0x2D60 is VANOS, exhaust: closed-loop control fault, camshaft sticks. Depending on which one you have I've seen VANOS, skipped timing, or camshaft position sensor as the culprit. Report back with your findings!

The pedal sinking could be a bad master cylinder. I had a similar problem in my old Hondas that was fixed by replacing the master cylinder.
