2006 R53 worn seat repair options
Hello, I have a 2006 mini Cooper S with the cloth fabric. On the drivers seat, the side of the seatback where the seatbelt rubs and people brush as they get in the car has become threadbare. What are the best options for repair or replacement? I am guessing that if the dealer has a replacement seat cover it will be a pretty penny.
thanks, Todd |

Hello Todd - can you post a picture for me to see by chance? You do have a few options. You could take it to an upholstery shop and have them repair/replace it. You could also buy a new/used seat and swap it in. Can possibly find one at a local junk/parts yard or Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market. You could also just buy a seat cover and put it over it until you can do the repair or find a used seat. We have custom ones here: 2006 Mini Cooper S Hatchback - Seats, Belts & Upholstery - Page 1. Also, we are offering 17% off on them from now until the 15th if you're interested.
Depending on what the wear looks like, I have seen some MINI owners do a DIY repair themselves. I'd first get quotes from an upholstery place. |
