Did a favor for Wife's co-worker. Removed his blown rod through block JCW motor from his 2008 and sourced a 2006 JCW motor used 98k. I went through the used motor t-chain set, seals, hoses, t-stat, etc.... The motor sounds great, fired right up but I am pouring Blue smoke oil smell out the exhaust. Car runs at middle of temp range. No noises from engine. I did use the better looking Valve cover off old motor. Can a valve cover PCV system cause this?

Yes, also if the car was blowing oil into the cat, it may take a while for all the residual oil to burn out of the exhaust, make sure this is new oil smoke, and not old oil smoke.

Since they blew the block, I wouldn't be surprised if there is residual oil in components, including the exhaust. I'd take it off and see if you can clean as much of it out as you can.
