I installed new wheels and reset TPMS as described above. The system went to 'active' state, but about a day later, every time I start the car it shows the Tire warning icon on the tachometer when shutting off engine, and a warning triangle next to the trip meter at all times, but the TPMS light on the speedometer remains off. Anybody know what's wrong?

Possible faulty sensor. You will need to check fault codes to see which sensor is reading low or offline.

Yes, plug in and read what fault codes are present in the system. If you don't have a scan tool we have them here: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/bmw-mini/961160-bavarian-technic-diagnostic-tools-now-available.html
