Hi. I have a 2007 MC R56 Base with N12 engine. Is this something that should be performed on this engine as well? Is it the same process? Have seen a lot of posts regarding cleaning a Cooper S model but not the non-S so it has me wondering if the design of the engine doesn't require it in the N12. Thanks!

An N12 does not require this procedure, as it is not a direct injection engine.

Yep, your N12 is not direct injection. This is really only geared towards the N14 MINI Cooper S (2007-2010). All NA engines are exempt from this as well as the newer gen 3 MINI's, N18's (some report a little build up), and gen 1 MINI's.
