very well written, My son has a 06 JCW that we are having a Misfire on #2 cylinder. I did the usual stuff plugs, plug wires and coil pack... swapped #2 injector with #4 checked compression... used my noid light to check the PWM negative coming from the ECU and got the pulse for a few seconds then it went away, So I suspected the ECU, so I bought a ECU car ran fin for a few seconds then went back to misfiring any suggestions Thank you...

The injector will be shutdown by the DME is a misfire. What was compression on all four cylinders? First puff and final?e is detected.

Did you do a leak down and compression test?
