not easy to write this and I am not going to invest a lot of time doing a bad ass write up because I hate the thought of letting it go - so it will be quick and dirty.
I am contemplating selling "das Kommandofahrzeug" as it was called in the recent magazine article covering the story of my 22k mile cross country road trip. Figured i would post here since there might be some of you who would like to have a dependable, reliable and bombproof towing vehicle without dropping $20k on a D-Max or Cummins. I reserve the right to sell to whomever I approve at the price I chose. Some know this truck and myself so there should be no mystery on what you are getting - however here is the highlights: - 1994 Chevrolet Suburban, 2500, vin F, 2WD towing package, etc. (see build sheet below for all options) - has never ever been smoked in. EVER! - never any accidents or repaints - 100% vehicle history _____(comes with window sticker $28,970.60 and EVERY receipt for every nut, bolt, repair, service, warranty work or _____anything EVER done to this truck from DAY ONE - even a log book for every gas stop) - featured on the cover of maxxTorque magazine spring 2009 issue, so you get the bragging rights for that - never been turned off before EGT was at 300F or below - always ran with stanadyne performance formula some mods and recent maintenance: - Heath Max E Tork GLE prom chip - Heath Turbomaster - Heath silicone coupler - Heath 2.5 inch Hi-Flow crossover pipe (03-09) - Heath 4 inch Super-Flow exhaust (03-09) - ported and redone GM-8 turbo (03-09) - Heath PMD relocator kit with 7 years warranty - Bilstein HD shocks - Dual Thermostat mod - Isspro A pillar gauges - boost, EGT, trans temp - MAG-HYTEC Aluminum trans pan with cooling fins similar to heath unit - Lucerix / Vision View towing mirrors - Tekonsha prodigy e-brake controller - Kenwood CD/MP3/Sirius deck and some Kenwood speakers (all stealth) - Michelin XLT M/S on PYO's (no wheel weights on outside EVER!!) - new OPS incl 1 year warranty (11-16-09) - new Purolator fuel filter (11-16-09) - new Purolator Air Filter (11-16-09) - new Bosch Duraterm glow plugs (anti-seize, 03-09) - new Bosch Injectors (anti-seize, 03-09) In conclusion : Everything that came with the truck new is included, this means the owners manual, the audio tape, the gas log if you promise to continue that, the original barely ever used keys (used remakes right away), the third row seats, the OE mirrors, radio, engine cover, all take offs (parts that were replaced minus exhaust) and two boxes of stanadyne performance formula additive - all in all several boxes included. (GM4 & heath turbomaster for sale separately at this time, but can be also included). The truck was used for some light towing duty maybe 25 times (for moving two 911 RS's which weigh a lot less than what some of you guys haul and a 1972 Challenger). The only rust spot that was bad was on the driver fender, that i cut out and RustOleum'ed. This was caused by them stupid chrome strips they had (removed them all). I took care of the rust on the back doors and painted maybe a 1.5 inch strip in silver metallic across both doors and 2 small rust spots on each one of the barn doors in original blue paint (some of which is beginning to show again). People that have personally seen and even worked on this truck are slim shady, Turbine Doc, Pepperidge, Grey Ghost, Wrecker, stacksram, 625fireman, who I am sure will also give character witness statements if approached by PM regarding my person. if you have any questions about the truck feel free to shoot me a PM. I have an excel sheet showing all the work which dates back to about 165k miles incl gas stops and fuel consumption calculation, everything before that is in paper format and available for scanning and pdfing in case you are interested. The truck is not pretty, it has some optical blemishes (the aforementioned rust spots, a tear in driver's seat, some small tears in the headliner) but this thing is bombproof. As most know i just did a 22k miles road trip in order to ensure everything that could break did and was fixed ;-) and if it was up to me I would take it clear across the country and then all the way up to Alaska tomorrow. That said, I am asking $9999 obo since i have to put something, but am willing to work with the right person. If i sell my H&K Mark 23 ($2500) the 2001 Audi A6 Avant Quattro ($6999) or anything else first, then i keep the damn thing of course. And please - do not approach me with such things as KBB values or comparable offerings on the net or other dumb crap. if you show me another 6.5 Suburban with a 100% vehicle history that has never been smoked in, I will immediately take $1000 of the price. if you are looking for cheap I can refer you to Lee's Auto Ranch or any other dealer (just check autotrader.com or ebay.com).here are some pics (with the old side exit exhaust): |
