This could be extremely dangerous. Please don't do that. Anyone, ever. If' you've ever heard the 'pop' when a tire is dismounted (yes, even with zero psi) you know what kind of forces you're working with.

You MUST, MUST dismount the tire before you disassemble the wheel. MUST.

Back to the wheel centers, do you have enough halves to make a full set? If so what sizes? Your location? (feel free to PM).

I think it's doable. I wouldn't think the tire is really pulling the wheel halves apart much unless you have an unsafe amount of rubber on them ie 285 on a 9" wheel or something. If you secured them well enough I don't think there would be an issue. Even if they did separate, the bead should be plenty strong to hold them from popping of, that's the reason you hear a pop but it's usually from the bead seating during mounting.
