Porsche Club Canberra Wakefield Sprints
First a quick intro, I'm Bruce, I've been a Porsche owner for 30 years, a couple of 356A's (unfortunately gone) and a 68 911S since 84. This is currently undergoing rework to bring it back to almost standard for the new CAMS C1 regs for this year's Targa Tasmania. It's surprisingly difficult and expensive to remove the suspension upgrades!
I'm also the Porsche Club Canberra Sporting coordinator and invite Pelican members to our annual Wakefield Sprints on Canberra Day, Monday 17 March 2007. The aim is for our members and invited guests to enjoy their cars on the track in a friendly, non threatening and low key environment. We provide full electronic timing and you only need a sound road car and a Wakefield Licence (available on the day) to participate. This is a great opportunity for a fantastic long weekend combining great drives to the ACT and NSW Southern Highlands with a 'non-threatening' track event. If you're interested contact me at Sporting@porsche-club-canberra.org.au A couple of photos of the 911S: one on the long journey of restoration and one doing what all early 911s should be doing: going hard! ![]() ![]() |

Adam, if it's a Porsche you're welcome. We've had just about every model you can name on the track at some time, but we're still waiting for the first Cayenne, but I'm sure it will come. We usually have several 944s so you wouldn't be lonely.
We also invite a few other ACT clubs including MG and BMW and get a range on non-Porsches as well. Drop me a line on my club email and I'll send you the details in a couple of weeks when I get them together. |

Phil
I still need to finalise cost but I expect that it will be $100 for PCC members and $120 for non members. We generally limit to 64 cars (8 seeded groups of 8) but have had about 55 cars in the past few years. Nobody complains about track time as the numbers tend to drop off after about 2:00pm. Bruce |
