Question Help Porsche 986 with EJ18 Subaru Engine

Hi I'm new to this forum.

I wanted to know how hard and if it is possible to fit a EJ18 Subaru Engine from an Impreza 96 model into a 1997 Porsche Boxster 986.

I have tried to research this but have no Idea where to start.

Could someone please give me some advice as to where i could find info on how to do this and also if it is possible.

Thanks

I've never heard of such a transplant. Nothing is impossible with these kind of modifications given enough time and money. Everything will be custom. Will the engine physically fit in the space? if so, it will need custom mounts. If not, the engine bay will need to be modified. It will need a custom adapter between the transmission and the engine. Wiring and electronics will have to be cobbled together to adapt the engine to the Porsche instruments. You may have to use the Subaru computer for the engine, but will it interact with the Porsche electronics. Throttle connections, cooling, accessories will all need custom fit and most likely custom fabricated adaptors. This is just scratching the surface. If you succeed in all of that, you will need to get it certified by an engineering firm in order for it to be considered road worthy.
