Anyone know about conditional rego for road/track cars?
Does anyone have any experience getting an imported car some type of conditional rego to basically allow it to compete in club trackdays and the like? This car is LHD and brought in from Japan and has never been registered here. Unfortunately it is too young to get the 30+ years exemption. I have even thought of getting it rego'd in another state. Having it LHD seems to be a sticking point (why I don't really know?), but I have seen a Red 911 LHD that a guy brought in from the US at Eastern Creek and I think Oran Park. Perhaps it may have been his private car and he was allowed to bring it over with him? I'm not sure, but any ideas would be appreciated.

I see quite a few cars in Melbourne at track events with club permit rego's. I am not sure what the rules are around them.
Certainly there are cars that are on them that could not be registered for day to day operation due to their level of modification. May be worth investigating what the NSW rules are. While imported cars like 964 RS's are on these I have not seen any post 89 cars that are lefties. Not sure if that is much help but worth checking out.

I don't think the car has to be registered to compete at the club track days but it does have to be scrutinered why not take it to the track by trailer?
