German Vehicle Show and Shine Newcastle

Hi all,

I love Newcastle but at best its a classic car cultural wasteland... so i was surprised to see in the local press the Mercedes Benz Car Club of NSW is having a Show and Shine for all German Cars on our beautiful foreshore.

Work permitting the cover will come off the E, hope to see some of you there!

Mercedes-Benz Club of NSW incorporated

regards

ohhhhh that was a hasty and unfair comment Craig. Newcastle is far from a classic car cultural wasteland. For starters the European car day in Lambton park held every year hosts hundreds of rare and interesting vehicles and continues to grow every year. I can't comment on this Mercedes event, don't know how big or interesting it is.

I'd be careful if I was you making such brash statements such as this, the local classic car buffs will lynch you. Now there's an image, all these old blokes in caps and driving gloves searching the foreshore for an E owner carrying nooses and flaming torches.

Nothing screams classic car cultural like Toranafest!

Dont they hold it down there?

I'm kidding of course.......i think!

I thought Newcastle was alive with car events?

I will be not far away from there on Sunday, so I called the number on the above link, Winston sounds like a great guy, it was like talking to a mate of 30 years.

There is a $5 fee to display your car but all who do will get a goodie bag from their sponsors and there are prizes for best in all makes.

This is the first time this club is holding such an event and they are not sure what to expect, they are hoping for between 70 and 100 cars with many pre registered but the venue can hold up to 300, so the more the merrier.

The weather forecast looks pretty good and it sounds like it may be interesting.

I'll take my camera...

Likewise Craig, it was good to meet you, Mark & his family. I hope to make it there again next year, hopefully with a friend or 2 and their cars.

I thought I should post some pics of some of the other brands represented, and one of my baby (I could not resist)
