total track blockage

Brutal, because it is just around a tight bend with walls and no site line there isn't the idea that those in the back should be stopping RIGHT NOW.

This is why I don't like to marshal street course races. They are too narrow and there is no where to go in case of an incident.

Reminds me of a crash at Road America coming up the hill on the front straight a few years back in a vintage race. Carnage!!!

A few years ago there was a 100% wipeout at our local 1/3 mile paved bull ring. A few cars tangled coming out of turn 4 and left a pile of six cars or so stopped on the front straight. Going down the front straight one of them was riding on top of another one, resting on the driver's door with the tires riding the 15 foot chain link fence that separated the grandstands from the track. The car on top wiped out the timing stand, where the switches for the caution lights are. So no caution lights were on and the rest of the field came around turn 4 at full race speed and plowed into the pile on the front straight. There were 25 cars piled up on the front straight and it took half an hour to get all the drivers out. Good times.
