who has hiked up Machu Picchu? what did you pack?
 

just curious.

i'm slightly vexed because we need cold weather gear AND hot-ass weather gear. i'm hoping my hotel will allow me to store my crap there in between our visits to opposites sides of the country.

i'm bringing a travel rod!! i wont carry up the mountain..haha.
any ideas on what the lockers at the airport are like? sketchy?

Are you taking the multi-day hike there, or from the hotel in Aguas Calientes? There's a (mandatory) shuttle bus to the base of the site - no real hiking. The real hike is up Wayna Picchu "stairs of death"

Our guide practically ran up and down Wayna Picchu as we were climbing up. Go early.
