Hey Baz..pond herbicide question for ya...

I think I need to resort to a herbicide on two of my small ponds (less than 1/8 acre) due to parrot feather....grass carp ain't working on that crap . "Reward" (Diquat) seems to get high reviews...I see a generic version too. I want to be extremely conservative in my application. Any tips or advice is welcome....thanks all!

No experience in aquatics, Keith.

I know the aquatic version of Roundup is called Rodeo. (active ingredient glyphosate).

That's all I got.....sorry.....

We used to put copper sulfate in a burlap bag and drag it across the pond. Just once but maybe again after a month if the undesirables were still hanging on.

I do not disbelieve in anything. I start from the premise that everything is true until proved false. Everything is possible.

I have used this before..still have about 1/2 qt. They banned use of it in MI a few years ago because of over application.

The ingred list is the same as plain Round-Up.
I would just use Round-Up if no other land-owners on your ponds.
Round-Up dissipates with ground or water contact.
As you know..it can only kill above water dry weeds.

I decided to get some Aquacide pellets (contains 2,4-D....whatever the hell that is )....submergable viney plants will absorb & die...no harm to fishies. Threw out a few handfuls in this pond earlier....just as a test...time will tell....

Let's see if I can post a pic....

nope....can't post a pic....I'll try again when I'm smarter
