Koni's 'Activate the Nation' Tour Behind-the-Scene Look!

Last week our friends at Koni swung by our HQ for the last stop of their 'Activate the Nation' tour which promotes their new line of Active suspension. We got to test drive a few BMW 3 Series and Ford Mustangs and compare factory settings vs. Koni's Sport and Active suspension. The differences are remarkable and very noticeable! Check out a few behind the scene photos below and lookout for some awesome new products on the way from Koni too!

That's probably the most uninformative video I have ever wasted my time on. So, WTF is this new shock? Active suspension? I see no wires coming from the shock. Turn the knob? I had that with Koni yellows 20 years ago. "Active" means it's controlled by a computer.

Hey Zeke, this first video was more of an event recap. We're working on the more in-depth video comparing the stock, KONI Sport, and Special Active dampers. We should have it out soon. There's a lot more details in that video, so it's just taking some more time to edit everything together.

The Special Active damper is not controlled by a computer, and is not an electronically adjusted damper. It is more of an evolution of the KONI FSD shock, which adjusted stiffness and responsiveness according to the vibration frequencies in the road.

My drive with the Special Active dampers felt very comfortable, even when I intentionally went over potholes and roads that were deteriorating. I'm used to driving cars with coilovers, and on the same roads, the ride are quite jarring. I didn't get to really test the handling too much, but at speeds of 20-40mph, it was much more impressive on turn in and steering response. There was also less lean in, and the steering feedback felt much more direct.
