I saw him do that at the University of Dayton arena a couple weeks after I saw it on SNL.

Same here. Saw him at the Garden State Arts Center in Holmdel NJ shortly after seeing him do it on SNL. He did the King Tut routine on roller skates.

I need to watch AG again. It's been a long time since I've seen it.

Hey, you can still walk like an Egyptian!

Geronimo '74 07-05-2018 06:19 AM

Pharaos were severely deformed through generations of divine inbreeding. Tut included.
So, that is a no for me.

If'n you're gonna be a Pharaoh, ya gotta learn to spell their name...

PHARAOHS

Still a few Pharoahs clubs around, membership could be yours for $35...

Crowbob 07-05-2018 07:45 AM

My first thought, drive the latest bad azz mustang to the world championship pool tournament.
Color me surprised.

Cheers Richard

You're right...a typo. I've tried, but can't pronounce it as well as in the movie...the PHAY-rows. Bo Hopkins had the character nailed!

If you watched MythBusters you would know that scene where the rear axle is pulled off is not possible. They tried all sorts of giant cables way bigger then what was used in the movie. The cable just snapped. They had to structurally weaken the car to the point of absurdity to get it to pull the rear end out.

So the movie is just not realistic I guess. It was a shocking result to find a movie scene is not real!

I watched that mythbusters...they used a more modern Ford with 5 link rear suspension and coils...not the leaf spring suspension of the car in the movie.
So, I kinda call mythbusters busted on this one. Hold on, I'll see if I can find a link..

(edit) Found it! Also, read the comments made on Youtube...they made an apples-oranges comparison. Besides, don't all movies involve a "willing suspension of disbelief"? Or do you believe the stunts you see are all real?

Just like every car crash ends in an explosion.
