Recommendations in Santa Fe and Taos
Going with family in August. Any recommendations to do with a 16 year old boy, 19 year old girl and wife of an age I will not mention?
We like to eat and can hike a couple miles. We like historic stuff too. Thanks for your help. |

On the main square in Santa Fe and is great:

Go see the Bradbury Science Museum in Los Alamos. Its a MUST do.. Bradbury Science Museum
Also, there are some cave dwellings nearby that are worth seeing also.. At Taos, you can take the chair lift up to the top bowl and walk around and then take it back down, or walk down and then grab lunch. Red River is also close by and has all sorts of summer activities.. (canoeing, horseback, etc..)

In Santa Fe for breakfast or lunch Home - Tia's Website if locals are eating near the plaza..this is the place. They say the breakfast burrito originated here but who knows. Great NM food regardless.
In Taos for www.breakfastmichaelskitchen.com Highly recommend

A lot of the forest are closed down because of the drought. Not sure to what extent.
Hopefully the monsoon season shows up soon. Fingers crossed.

Orlando’s in Taos is my favorite.
In Santa Fe I like what all the other guys said but I also like Maria’s. If you want a delicious but artsy fartsy Santa Fe breakfast experience go to Pasqual’s.

Rio Grande Bridge (Taos) - nice walk, good place to jump
Doc Martins (Taos) - hotel, restaurant, bar, hippies rent an earthship - dirty hippies arroyo hondo - wealthier, less dirty hippies numerous clothed and nekked hot springs - dirty hippies washing valles caldera - visual freak-out and well worth the short drive from Santa Fe or Taos Georgia O'Keefe museum to look at stuff that looks like private parts (Abiquiu) Monastery of Christ in the Desert in Abiquiu to atone for yer thinking about private parts (plus, their brewery up the road has really great beer) NM History Museum in Santa Fe Loretto Chapel (Santa Fe) Taos pueblo & casino - meh if you stay in ABQ, bring a gun and guard yer women stop in and buy my '69 911 Last edited by jamesnmlaw; 07-09-2018 at 10:31 AM.. If you need to take a left at north Albuquerque, my favor-ite place to eat there is
