A Little Weather Event Monday Afternoon - Scottsdale

My Poolvergnuegen is busy this AM.
Had to clean debris floating in pool first. A tree branch, bush branches, big leaves, a tricycle front wheel, a garbage can lid, a dead cat and two old military boots attached to the dead homeless dude who was walking down the street as the 70 mph winds came howling through.
Sideways heavy rain.
My patio looks like a tornado arranged everything like it wanted. A 25 gal. potted tree blown over, for one.
Been here 8 years and this was the biggest, baddest, mother I've witnessed.
My patio temp was 105' when it arrived and 79' as it left.

That sounds terrible compared to the nice quarter inch of rain we got here this morning. First time in a long time.

Your pool looks filthy, you really should clean it more often!

(ducking).

How did the homeless dude die? Tree branch hit him?

My silly humor, Denis.
.
But tons o' crap in my pool. Good news is that the umbrella remained on the deck.

My Poolvergnuegen stopped working a few days ago...took it apart...replaced the rotating impeller. $40 at Leslie's Pool Supply.
$22 on Amazon.
.
Don't take one apart if'n you don't want a headache.
Planetary gears galore.
.
Fixed just in time for the storm.

You should post live updates of your poolbot's progress.

Not live, but..........
Photo of yesterday's progress. A few small spots here/there.
As it randomly roams and twirls, it'll get it all by today.
I could use the manual roller to suck it all up, but I'm a lazy old fart.
BTW, half way through its cleaning, I back flushed the sand filter.
Looked like the River Charles...almost muddy. One nasty storm.

I have a polarus sweeper
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1531418772.jpg

it was crapping out and a new one was big $$$$ ($500 to $650), so I found the rebuild parts on evil-bay for 1/4 the cost of new.
Piece of cake as long as you don't mind fiddling with screws trying to either strip or break the plastic they are screwed into.

I like that leaf bag on top. My debris gets caught in the pump filter...which means a regular cleaning.

Our home had a similar sweeper when we bought it from the PO. I hated the one we had - the pressure driven tail kept watering down the house windows that lined the pool area. It picked up leaves and stuff just fine but not that great on dirt as it would not stay in the collection bag.

Right now I'm doing the vacuum thing manually. Takes 30 minutes 2x week right now. I really dislike it, and have to look at a few leaves at the bottom of the pool in between cleaning, but many these things are spendy!

funny, mine sprays me once in a while and everytime it startles me.

Have had mine for 4 years...only the impeller broke...fixed for $40.
Amazon has the impeller for less.
Needs new rubber tires...worn down...bottom on unit scrapes a bit on the pool surface.
Tires on Amazon...cheapest price I've found.
This unit will try to climb out of my pool...great suction for dirt, etc.
