Downloading YouTube Music - What's The Code?

I don't recall having problems in the past...have many tunes in my library from past downloading.
Has Google made it difficult/impossible?
How to, please...anyone? What's the secret code?

https://www.onlinevideoconverter.com/mp3-converter

works for me... I used to maintain my own shell script to do it, but it got convoluted and I got lazy and busy with homework

This site might be an option, YouTube to MP3 converter - Easy and Free Video Conversion . It does convert to more than mp3 format.

Use the search engine "Torch." It allows you to download audio and video.

my brother ran into david Crosby a few weeks ago.
the conversation got onto money.
Crosby said he has to tour to make money now, no one buys music, they down load it.

Basically, youtube is the new way to pirate/steal music and movies. It's not as successful as other ways and it's better at catching pirated stuff, but there's still a bunch up there.

THere is a way that Google can make it harder if not impossible to download some stuff, but I think the posters have to pay extra. Most of the stuff is freely downloadable. I use an add-on in firefox to download. If I just wanted the audio, then I use an app to save that separate from the video.

About the only thing that I download are TV shows that aren't available for purchase and the occasional video that I want to watch on the TV (car stuff mostly). I have downloaded some music for the missus to listen to when running.

When you watch a video, no matter what it might be, it goes into your computer's video memory where you can grab a copy of it and no one would ever know. The video does not get modified in any way so the need is for something to capture your computer's video memory like a software called "iTube Studio" that can copy directly from the YouTube URL or wait until it displays on the screen and captures the video as a screen grab.
Note there are some videos that want you to sign up or register before watching so that the creators can keep track of their fan base.

Working with video memory both reading and writing is one of the first things I covered when I taught a series of computer graphics classes years ago.

Yep, all true. Most of the plugin's out there use the direct video link on the webpage to save the streamed video. I was aware that the video was essentially cached as you watched. That software appears to be pretty slick.

I want to download music, not so much the video. Only the music. If a video comes along with it, fine. My VLC media player will separate them.
I also have add-ons with my Firefox but most YouTube videos will not respond to my Firefox.
Here, try to download this video (music) and tell if you're successful and if so, which Firefox add-on you used, please.
.
Thanks.........

Easy to do but without any web browser add-on.

Don Ro 07-18-2018 08:36 AM

^^^
Well, you're responding to a computer doof.
Pray tell, how?
thanks..........

don't get me wrong, not putting anyone down because I am guilty too.
its just a shame that guys like that cant live off the royalties of the music they wrote.
I remember when CD's first started coming out and how they were saying the price would come down once they recouped their initial cost. I guess their costs were a lot:rolleyes:
there is not much out there, well really nothing, that I want to download/buy.
only time I do It now is to learn new songs for the band. I don't turn on the stereo anymore, the only CD's in my car are of my band.

dad911 07-18-2018 09:56 AM

I just cast youtube videos (concerts, etc) to the tv with chromecast. Don't bother downloading anymore.

John Rogers 07-18-2018 01:40 PM

As I mentioned in an earlier post, download software such as iTube Studio and go ahead and register it for the $25 a year price and go to work. It can pull out the sound track which is a separate parallel file and also convert from MP4 (fat file size) to MKV format which is much smaller and more efficient.

There is both Windows and MAC OS versions available.

So many spammers in this thread...

john70t 11-26-2018 01:54 AM

(yeah I'm so sure those are not virii or trackers)

I use the Flash and Video Download 1.0.9.1 pluggin for Firefox.
It works with a lot of sites but is dependent on javascript being loaded.

I used a couple times https://en.savefrom.net/ where you copy over the URL and then get your file from that website.
It worked but was a bit slower.

Also saw https://savetomp3.cc/ "YouTube to MP3 Converter - Convert YouTube to MP3 and MP4"
Have not used. YMMV.

There are tons of them, but it seems like the good ones don't last long, so I won't post my current favorite.
