When something sounds too good to be true.....

Guess that's my reaction. My wife has MS...there ARE remissions. Lot's of quacks use this as a sales pitch. I'm not saying this is quackery...but I'm not going to say it isn't either.

Don’t have time to watch the video, but stem cells hold the potential to be any type of cell we need them to be. It’s not quackery, it’s science at a ver advanced level

I'd suggest watching the video, then make a comment? I didn't say stem cell research isn't science. But this usage of stem cells is questionable to me...especially when he brought up MS...

On a related subject, we've banked core blood from each of our grand children at time of birth. Who knows how it may help them in the future ..

I have been looking into stem cells of my arthritic knee... long story short after much research stem cell therapy is the future... but it is just it, the future and not here yet. The research is still going on. No insurance (that I know of) will pay for it so it is out of pocket and very very expensive.

Thus a lot of clinics are popping up offering stem cells for big $$$, and when I email a clinic and they want me to sit through a seminar it is "run forest run" time for Scooter.

don't get me wrong, I believe this will be a huge game changer for humankind if they can harness it.

Good move. Can't hurt and may prove to be very valuable later on.

Hour long, what point should I start watching? Kind of doubt I am learning much about stem cells from Mr Gibson.

Brother has MS. Tried the treatment where they take blood from bone morrow, treat it, put it back in. It is supposed to be based on this stem cell stuff. Right after the treatment he fell and broke his leg. It healed unbelievably faster than it should have. He still has MS and it is still progressing. He thinks the treatment went to repairing his broken leg instead of repairing the MS.

https://med.stanford.edu/news/all-news/2016/06/stem-cells-shown-safe-beneficial-for-chronic-stroke-patients.html
Sonia Olea Coontz, of Long Beach, California, was one of those patients. Now 36, Coontz had a stroke in May 2011. She enrolled in the Stanford trial after finding out about it during an online search.

“My right arm wasn’t working at all,” said Coontz. “It felt like it was almost dead. My right leg worked, but not well.” She walked with a noticeable limp. “I used a wheelchair a lot.”

Not anymore, though.

“After my surgery, they woke up,” she said of her limbs.

Wow! That is encouraging. Still doesn't mean I'd go winging to South America for any treatment.

I have the same affliction due to spinal injury. I'd pay a lot to get my right arm back.

My emphasis.

Last year when my father was sick we looked into stem cell treatments quite a bit. Talked to a lot of experts.
The statement above is consistent with what we found.

Back in the early 80's I had an employee who called in sick allot but was creative about it.
One time he said he needed to pick up his one-armed grandmother at the airport because she has two bags.
But the best one was when he said he had to take his grandmother to Mexico for her Laetrile treatments.

Lets see how many old timers remember that ......

It's early days for sure but fast forward the 10-15 years and things will be a whole lot better.

The reason I started this is because Mel talks about his father and the effects it had on him. He started at 92 and will soon be 100!
Mel's constant beard stroking is distracting but he's always been a bit quirky. (to say the least)

One big issue, the treatments are not cheap. About 50k all up including accommodation in Panama.

If you have the money and nothing to loose then why not?

(I know someone who paid $80,000 for a luxury Swiss watch.)
