The truth about facebook data security

Found this video interesting. Especially now that Facebook took a near 19% stock hit. The full title of the video is "How Facebook elected Trump- the truth about Facebook data security." This post is not intended to be political. I am sure there will be some pro/anti Trump comments and that is OK, just keep it out of PARF. Try and stay on the Facebook/Zuck topic and the business model.

For those paying attention most of the information it is not new news but this guy puts together in a timeline of pivotal events and the mind set of Mark Zuckerberg.

I am glade I don't Facebook.

If anyone knows how to post the actual video please do.

"Zuck elected Trump."

The validity of that provoking tease aside, why are people so emotional that they can't discuss politics?

BTW, Facebook is but ONE communication route. A bit ridiculous of a tease line.

Yes, one data point. But its where many/most get 'news' today. Group and herd think has taken over truth for far too many.

I tend to avoid videos with titles "So and so destroys such and such", or "the truth about such and such".

I wasted my time with this exception.

Nothing new that isn't known in PARF.

Secondly, this is still misleading in that it keeps mentioning Cambridge Analytica, but fails to mention what the Trump campaign did with Cambridge Analytica.

Trump didn't buy that data. Trump considered that he could do better with his own program in regards to potential voter base data.

This is conflation trying to link Cambridge Analytica and face book, and the Trump campaign together.

I do find the partisanship of facebook to be disturbing, and I find their manipulation of their users to be disturbing.

I left because of the latter, and the former was not yet as evident.

Any post I make on this site is not private, we are posting data freely, and outside programs could harvest that. I don't see people freaking out about.

This is mostly a circus to keep people distracted.

There is one tidbit in that video I didn't remember.

Trump allocated resources to keep modifying his campaign in an effort based on finding out what was important to the American voter.

Trump gained information on what issues got responses, and could bring these to the front not just of face book, but elseware in his campaign.

Trump, won, because he got in touch with the American people.

Clinton lost because she tried to tell people what to do, or tell people what the issues are. Clinton lost from being an authoritarian.

Trump won by listening, and responding.

I can't see how anyone can say Facebook and security in the same sentence with a straight face.

Remember back - Both Trump and Hilda were about tied for the least liked candidate to ever get their respective top-ticket nominations. --both historically unlikable.

IOW, neither was much liked by the herd. The herd was not drawn to either.

It came down to known corruptocrat vs known rich loud-mouth. The one with his own money seemed less risky to most of the country.

I don't do Facebook

Don't feel the need to update friends, families and strangers with where I am, what I'm doing and what I'm eating pictures.

Always struck me Facebook is full of boring people trying to make their boring lives seem more interesting than it actually is.

I have PPOT forum for finding out stuff about everything, even stuff I never thought I'd want to know about.
