When I was a baby, my mom was a nurse. She's done everything from private duty to emergency room. Before I was born, my parents lived in Pensacola, FL. My mom was working at the emergency room the big Pensacola hospital. They had an old guy walk into the emergency room with a small trickle of blood coming from the are of his ear. He had, apparently, tried to commit suicide with a 22. The bullet had gone in at an angle where it then basically whizzed around the inside of his skull, so didn't do a lot of damage. He drove 40-50 miles to the hospital. He did eventually die.
