Gas tanker explosion in Italy. Wow!

Hopefully it posts below. I’m on my phone. The road damage is amazing. https://www.cnn.com/videos/world/2018/08/06/gas-tanker-explodes-on-a-highway-in-italy.cnn Last edited by A930Rocket; 08-06-2018 at 05:40 PM..

Remember when was a kid, parents driving by a exit overpass on I-44 in Mo. The intersection was kind of on a hilltop with a couple of truck stops. A tanker blowed up and it flat leveled the whole place.

I was very close to being on that road at the same time as the explosion Decided the extra driving time to Maranello was too far to go for lunch

Jeeze, that's a bit close Captain. I'm surprised there was so little traffic. When I drove it years ago as a much younger man the traffic was such that I was sitting on the armco barrierin the middle of the road pretending I spoke Italian as I listened intently to the other stranded motorists. We would move forward 200m then start chatting again.

WOW! Sorry about the loss of life but that is really cool. Thanks for sharing Rocket. I wouldn't have expected such a crater. It's almost as if it was a shaped chare.

I just hope this doesn't give terrorists any ideas. I would think tanker trucks would be a lot easier to hijack than airliners.

Perhaps tanker trucks should be built with multiple chambers where surrounding chambers are filled with a substance that would mitigate any reactions caused on breach of the container. As this is a fresh idea on my part I hereby ask for 10% of all proceeds from the sale/design/patenting of such an idea and ask that I also get to name the design.

It was a compressed gas, not a standard gasoline tanker. I think they said propane or LPG. Still a huge explosion. The truck driver paid for really bad failure to pay attention to road conditions with his life. He will not text and drive again.

Oh right that makes sense. I was wondering how so much fumes could’ve accumulated to make an explosion like that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
