Roofer stole some of my lumber!!
Having a cabin built.
Almost dried in, but still missing garage doors. Garage door guy coming tomorrow. All the pressure treated lumber needed to frame around the door openings was sitting just inside the garage door openings. 2x8x10s and 2x8x8s. Also had several other misc pieces of 2x6s sitting upstairs that I was using to frame railings. 16 footers, not scrap wood. Also had a bunch of pre cut and pre drilled 2x6 and 2x4s I was using to frame up a window. All this lumber was there when I left Sunday night. Roofer gets there Monday. Last night all my lumber is GONE!! Called the general and told him what happened and he is going to talk to the roofer. Not expecting too much to happen there. Do I take out the value of the lumber from what I still owe the general? We're only talking about a couple hundred worth of wood. The worst part is I went there last night to finish up the window, and all my pre cut and pre drilled stuff was gone! Wasted trip. /rant off

Do you have proof it was the roofer?
What you have right now is just circumstantial. Could have been a guy on the roofers crew came back after hours or literally anyone.

Get a $100 trail cam. It could have been anyone. Someone driving by. Even a lumberyard employee.

No. I don't think the general was hired to guard your supplies. You'll make yourself look bad even trying.
