Cadillac CTS-V?

Anyone here had or have one or some experience to share?? Met one today on the road and thought it looked really good!

My next door neighbor is a VP for GMC.

Always brings home "stuff" and let's us take joyrides.

He brought one of them home one day, left the keys in the flower pot on his front porch for us and basically said "have fun, just one thing, please DO NOT turn off the traction control"

Apparently that turns it into a Mustang leaving Cars N Coffee.

Thing is a beast.

Beyond 400hp, regardless of platform, turning off traction control requires thought and appropriate dexterity. Just *a few* videos on the interwebs of those that don't qualify. I'm sure the CTV-V is a beast. I have not driven one.

my son has one...black four door and six speed! and, it goes very well! not a very spacious interior to my way of thinking! I really like the car and the 556 hp!

I had a 2012 V Wagon, 6 speed manual. Bought new and drove for 18,000mi. Great driving car, comfortable and loads of fun. Smallish interior wasn’t great for hauling my stuff and two large dogs back and forth between my house in the NyC metro zone and the weekend retreat in Bucks County PA. Traded in on a 2014 GMC Sierra Crew Cab.

Big powerful V-8, slick tremec 6 speed, and GMs magnetic ride control is a very nice combo. I miss it. Only real “problem” with it is the gas tank is too small so the range sucks...hard to pass a gas station without pulling in for a top up 😀

Tremec seems to be hitting it out of the park. GM, Ford and Chrysler all use them.

CTS-V wagon owner for the last 3 years. Six speed manual is the way to go, but hard to find in the wagon nowadays. Perfect family hauler that is unassuming but will still haul the mail when called on. I am in Canada and have lapped it a Mosport, and it is heavy but never ponderous. It's a well-balanced and well-sorted gentleman's family hauler. Best all around car I've owned.

To jwasbury's comment, its main drawback is range due to the small (18gal) tank. 200 miles to the tank is the norm in mixed city/highway driving. 300 to the tank on the highway if you stay out of the boost, but that's sacrilegious.
