Damn phishing emails!
I think I’m savvy when it comes to email, but this one got me to respond.
I got an email tonight like I always do when someone buys a movie on Xfinity at home. I usually delete them, but I polled my family and everyone said they didn’t buy the movie. The email was exactly like the others I have received over the years and deleted, but... I clicked on the “chat” link to dispute it and they want to confirm my name and address. Then they want my user name and password. **** that! I closed the page immediately. Hopefully I didn’t screw up to much, but **** those scammers. |
Check your account online, don't click on email. Same for ebay, paypal, etc..
My dog bought a comcast movie once. Really. |
I checked online immediately.
No changes or activity. I suppose “Antboy” should have tipped me off, but who know what movies are out there. |
They now know your email is valid.
Expect (a lot) more spam and phishing. |

I receive lots of them each day. Most are easy to spot. The ones that look like a LinkedIn e-mail messages are awfully good.
I check the e-mail header on most and can spot where the e-mail originated. Today, it was from a server in India. |
"Antboy" is a fake movie name.
"Man who Looks Like an Ant and Fights Bad Guys While Doing Ant Things" is the real movie. |
damn..that might have gotten me as well. that is good.
what happened when you clicked on that link? |

To confirm my account they asked for my name. Then they asked for my username and password. That’s when I knew I had been had. I closed the page and cleared everything on my phone (which I had been using). I got an email right after thanking me for contacting Xfinity and contact them if needed. They were good, but **** em! |

I am camping for three days over Labor to see the last three summer shows....
They have been good the past few years, not as good as back in the day though. At least according to my memory which I am sure is biased. |
I keep getting mail from people that have been dead for years saying "Look at this!" with a link that I don't click on..
