you done with summer yet?
i think i am! it is starting to chill down in my area. i'm already wearing a hoodie sweatshirt in the mornings.
about to do my annual pilgrimage into the wilderness to look for things to eat. hopefully we see some down puffy jacket weather. i do however love the fresh produce. my own garden tomatoes were a fail. my office mates are keeping me up in supplies tho..i am flush with tomatoes. and watermelons. finally they are all sweet. no more cucumber tasting ones. how is your summer going? breakfast: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1534866633.JPG |
We are loving this summer. We are on schedule for having the wettest August ever, and it was 68 degrees and clear blue skies this morning. We have had just one day this month that was above average for that month. 80 degree highs are a wonderful thing in August.

Loving the change. It’s been a hot humid prick here in MN. Finally able to open the windows over night. Headed to the hills of Idaho in 3 weeks! Bring it on fall!!! How’s your planning going this season, Boom???[emoji6]

Just returned from a week in western WA - meh. This summer has been hot & expecting it to extend through September as usual. Going to be doing some hiking with a couple of friends. One is going to show me an area where we can find pottery shards as this area was long used by Indians in the past. Looking forward to cooler temps to get some outside work done.

When I first moved to AZ in 2010 I was OK with the hot summers..."...dry heat.", you know.
But now I'm tired of 105' - 115' heat. Winters here are paradise, and this one can't come soon enough for me. Going to be "cooler" today......99'. |
OK...it was literally 100% humidty all mornng, and I was using my 20" Sthl....until the rain started...it won't hit 90 today....so bite me ;).
Next few daze will be really nice....but summer ain't over yet...not even close :)! |
i have had enough of the heat.
been in the 90's with H.I. of 100. I am sick and tired of the heat. 2-3 showers a day on the weekend. |
We've had a hot humid rainy summer season also. Im over it . It is nice that we are heading into my favorite time of the year here. It just rained here, Im a sweaty soggy mess already.
September through mid October are by far, the best weather months western Pa. Nice crisp mornings, with sunny 75 deg afternoons. I love what is right around the corner. I did get a ton of summer projects done this year though. |

Here in NW Ohio, still 85 degrees and humid as all hell....good pool weather, but only for another couple weeks. I have enjoyed this Summer more than most, still getting lots done, but also with a deep pool tan.
Fall is my favorite time of the year, but lots of prep work for a long Winter of firewood consumption. I enjoy being outside when the days are crystal clear, and 70 degrees, and the nights are in the 50s with all the nature smells amplified, and the crunch of leaves under your feet. |
Fall makes me sad, and it was 70 here yesterday. 90 this weekend, I'll get another few boating trips in before it's all over for the year.

Army Corp of Engineers told us ours is over.
When you cannot go in the water anymore, go ahead and bring on winter. https://www.bullsugar.org/florida_water_quality https://photos.smugmug.com/General-P...2Nm8PjG-XL.jpg |
Salmon run winding down.
Tourists leaving. Fireweed blooming. Real darkness at night. Yep. Summers over. |
Not done with summer yet, but it is definitely winding down. The weather hasn't been too hot or too humid for any extended period of time. Windows are open and AC is off as I type this. I'm loving this summer - finally.
Our garden is about through. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1534876351.jpg The sweet corn is done for and the tomatoes peaked last week. We have been in a frenzy of canning them for winter. We could probably get another half bushel off of the vines if we wanted. I hate to waste them, but we're done. In the past few days we have put up: 24 single serving packets of corn in the freezer 6 quart size bags of corn in the freezer 24 pints corn salsa 16 pints tomato salsa 8 pints sloppy joe sauce 12 pints spaghetti sauce 8 quarts chili base 8 pints chopped tomatoes 8 half pints ketchup We are still waiting for the serrano peppers to turn red so we can make hot pepper relish. Then we're done. |
Ill gladly take 90 degrees over anything below 50 all day long!
|
It was 81 Degrees at 6:30AM. It will be nearly 100F today with a dewpoint just under 80F.
