NSF wheel stud ID needed
I have these 2 wheel studs. Both NSF. One is labeled 10x which is for a 356. But what is the one labeled 86 for? The 86 labeled one is about 2mm shorter.

That is not 86, it's 8G.
Both your studs date from before the DIN-ISO merger around 1968/1969, which changed the property-class designations. The 10K became 10.9 and 8G became 8.8. |
If ya gona be a stud, be an OLD stud! ;)

Thanks for the edification.
I assumed the numbers were associated with the length of the stud. The 8g is 2mm shorter. Curious what factory application the shorter stud was for. |
